Sweet Endings

Friday night, we met friends at Much Moore Sno, Inc, in Moore, Oklahoma.

God is so amazing in the way He showers us with blessings.  We planned to finish our trip with these friends in Oklahoma City for many reasons.  It's been on the calendar for months.  Just a few weeks ago, we got a message from our New Mexico friends to let us know they would be driving through the Oklahoma City area the very weekend we would be there.

They also had a really good friend who owned a sno-cone stand that had sustained damage in the spring tornado outbreak, and what did we think about meeting there?

Hmmm, let me think a minute, one of our last evenings in the United States, surrounded by sno-cones and two sets of our favorite people?  No question, we were going to enjoy some icy treats!  Benjamin tried the frog-in-a-blender.  It was green and red.  He said it tasted fruity.

Donna, the owner of this cute little shop, went above and beyond.  She took each of the ten children behind the scenes so they could watch the making of the sno-cones, which she then very generously gave us, free of charge.

Such good fellowship and stories flew back and forth as the sun went down and the tongues changed colors.  Stories about the 7-11 across the street that was destroyed in the tornado, stories about the people who came together to help repair the sno-cone shop.  Stories about God's faithfulness in the big and little things.

And when it was time to say goodnight,

we serenaded each other with John Rutter's "The Lord Bless You and Keep You".  It was a very sweet ending to the day.

What a sweet post. I will treasure the memory of this evening - and the musical serenade that Sarah, Benjamin and Olivia (with her strong and steady harmony) - for a lifetime. Should the details ever become fuzzy, I'll reread this post. Thank you for the pictures - through images and words - and, most of all, for the time together creating memories.
Lots of love,
Jayla
