Pentecost Sunday

"At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.  And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian.  A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne."  Revelation 4:2,3

Our family traditionally celebrates Pentecost Sunday with a rainbow cake which reminds us of the rainbow surrounding the throne of God.

As usual, Sarah outdid herself.  I love how the cake looks absolutely normal, until you cut a slice and your eyeballs just about pop out of your head!

Tonight, after we returned home from the deacon ordination service at church, we shared our rainbow cake with friends from church.  We were all too busy eating to take pictures inside, but as we visited and played outside I remembered to grab the camera.  Celebrating is always more fun when you have friends to join you.
