Now that we're back in the land of libraries, we are fully taking advantage of the many, many books available. Between my mom (who specializes in early childhood education), second hand book stores and the local library, we compiled a basket of Independence Day books to celebrate our first 4th of July back in America and to help our children with re-entry:

what a great book list. I didn't get our books even pulled out this week:( the kids are reading a lot but haven't changed the read aloud basket in awhile! I may have to try and find a few of these:)
Looks like you are enjoying time with friends and that you had a great 4th... for the 2nd year in a row, no fireworks here:( We are still under burn ban because of the extreme hot temps and no rain:(
